Purpose of role
The role of Manager Local Procurement is to face off with the region/country business leadership and lead and manage the team of Local Procurement Representatives. This group supports efforts across Marketing, Professional Services, Capital Equipment and External Manufacturing. This position manages the interfaces between Category/Spend Areas and Stakeholders at the local level. Collaborates with global/regional spend area, category managers and specific project teams. Works with key business/end user leadership in a given region/country acting as valued and trusted Business Partner. Manages the local implementation of Regional/Global projects and ensures EOC compliance for all processes in scope.
Primary Responsibilities and % of time spent on that responsibility.
Day to Day Ops/Project Management responsibilities 40-60% :
Accountable for leading Local Procurement Representative resources to deliver on time and high quality operations
Implement business process excellence improvements and drive continuous improvement across activities in scope
Ensure stability of Procurement Ops processes, utilizing standard processes and tools to meet required compliance and develop risk mitigation plans
Ensure working procedures & controls are compliant with SOX, audit requirements, legal regulations
Ensure the team perform interfaces between Category/Spend Areas and Local Procurement Representatives
Ensure optimal allocation of resources to achieve targets (prioritize if necessary)
Raise/provide SME on local tax and legal requirements
Bring local requirements to Global team
Lead the team to implement local contract implementation tasks and guarantee appropriate support for specific projects
Oversight of area main activities and making sure the team collaborates with project teams and stakeholders.
Develop and manage the cost center budget for the Local Procurement Ops in alignment with the Regional Operational Lead
Accountable to develop and meet annual (monthly revisions) budget requirements following standard MDLZ financial processes
Strongly advocates the use of global/regional contracts within the BU/Country
Stakeholder management (focus on optimized user compliance, process performance, and customer satisfaction) 20-30%:
Acts as the single point of contact for the Procurement function for key stakeholders at a plant/country/region
Primary interface with local business/Integrated Supply Chain & other functions to align business strategy with procurement requirements
Ensure solid reports on performance in each area, actively participate in the identification of issues and the gaps, in collaboration with the global, regional Spend
Areas team (inform/engage stakeholders if needed) and support the definition of improvement plan
Collaborate with other LPR teams (sharing lessons learned, align action plans etc.)
People Management 20-30%:
Lead the Local Procurement Representative team members in accordance with the MDLZ management principles to support the organization’s overall leadership focus on performance and talent management, values, management and self-management practices
Support/Deepen people’s growth and development of their roles to become experts within their area and business process owners (acquiring necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with operations and personal development needs)
Support people in their development within customer/client management to become a valuable partner inspiring trust
Know the ethical and legal compliance responsibilities of the position; lead ethically and model compliant behavior; maintain an environment where employees can speak up without fear of retaliation; ensure employees in area of responsibility understand the compliance responsibilities of their jobs and actively participate in the compliance program
This Department has responsibility to support all Local Procurement activities with 5 Spend areas managed Globally which makes the work of the department complex as they have to work across multiple countries to meet the management requirements of Mondelez Spend Area groups – with multiple priorities. This team represents Procurement function on the ground and links closely/directly with various stakeholders focusing on business priorities.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree: preferably in business administration
Demonstrated success in business process gained in Sourcing/Purchasing areas required
Proven experience working with international teams required
Experience working in Procurement environment within a large international environment for 8+ years required
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, pro-activity required
Strength of character and tenacious approach to ensure timely resolution required
Ability to work effectively in an international and cross functional environment required
Proven managerial skills (leading professional teams) required
Strong Customer Service orientation/Senior Stakeholder Management required
Organization of own work and the ability to gain the cooperation of colleagues in other departments in order to meet priorities and deadlines required
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities & ability to deal with ambiguity required
Strong systems skills: SAP R3, Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point) required
